ASK SODI
Privacy Policy

What this covers
This policy covers soadtabrizi.com and "Ask Sodi," our free web chatbot that is embedded on this site. It does not cover the separate paid Sodi mobile/web app, which has its own privacy policy. Ask Sodi is provided by Soad Tabrizi Marriage And Family Therapist, Professional Corporation ("we" or "us").
What Ask Sodi collects
Ask Sodi has no accounts, no journals, and no payments. It never asks for your name, your email, or anything you type. You only tap buttons.
Here is the honest part. The bot is hosted by a company called Typebot (typebot.io), and Typebot records the results of each conversation. That means the buttons you tap, such as the emotion or symptom you choose, are recorded. Those results are not tied to a name or email by us, because we never ask for one. It is also possible that the symptoms you choose may be stored with those results. How long Typebot keeps this information is controlled by Typebot, not by us. Typebot's own privacy policy explains what else it may collect.
The step that matches your choices to coping skills runs in your browser and does not use the internet. The bot is set not to remember returning users, and search engine indexing of the bot is turned off.
What we do not collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, payment details, or any free-text you type, through the bot. We do not ask for a diagnosis or health records.
Cookies and analytics
Our website is built on Wix. Like most websites, Wix may use cookies and analytics tools to make the site work and to understand how visitors use it. This can include things like pages visited and basic device or browser information. You can manage cookies in your browser settings or through the cookie banner on the site, if one appears.
Other companies involved
Typebot hosts Ask Sodi and records conversation results, as described above. Wix hosts this website. Both act as service providers that help us run the site and the bot.
Some links take you to other places. If you choose to join our newsletter, you will go to Substack's own website (soadtabrizi.substack.com/subscribe), and Substack handles your email and its own privacy practices. If you click a link to a helpline or to findahelpline or another outside resource, or to the paid Sodi app, you leave our site and that service's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how other sites handle your information.
This is not therapy, not medical advice, and not HIPAA-covered
Ask Sodi and this website offer general coping skills and education only. They are not therapy, counseling, diagnosis, medical advice, or crisis support, and using them does not create a therapist-client relationship with Soad Tabrizi. This website is not HIPAA compliant, so please do not share private health information with us through it. If you are in crisis or think you may be in danger, please contact local emergency services or visit soadtabrizi.com/crisis-resources for support options.
Ask Sodi is for adults 18 and older.
Contact us and deletion requests
If you have a question, or want to ask us to delete information connected to you, email support@asksodi.com. Because Ask Sodi results are anonymous button taps, we may not be able to find which results are yours. We will do our best to help, and where the information is held by Typebot or Wix, we may point you to them as well.
Children
Ask Sodi and this website are not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the bot, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
